It is noted that Putin had telephone conversations with the leaders of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

They especially noted the broad support among Russian citizens for Putin’s course in domestic and foreign policy.

Also, the leaders of the CIS countries drew attention to the high voter turnout. 

They wished Putin further success in his government activities. 

Earlier, the leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called Vladimir Putin’s result in the presidential elections in Russia stunning.

On March 18, the Central Election Commission reported that self-nominated candidate Vladimir Putin received 87.29% of the votes according to the preliminary results of the presidential election.

In turn, candidate from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Nikolai Kharitonov gains 4.3%, Vladislav Davankov from the New People party - 3.84%, Leonid Slutsky from the Liberal Democratic Party - 3.21%.
