According to him, "for a long time, the best opportunity has appeared to take decisive steps in resolving the crisis."

“Therefore, together with President Zelensky and his government, we will find out what obstacles should be removed on this path, and what progress we can count on,” the minister said before flying to Ukraine.

As Maas noted, around the settlement of the situation in the Donbass, “the movement has begun again”, including thanks to the efforts of the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.

“The breeding of the parties in Petrovsky, Zolotoy and Stanitsa Lugansk brought relief to thousands of people, but since the ceasefire is broken hundreds of times daily, the situation on the contact line is unbearable for the population,” he added.

Earlier it was reported that Heiko Maas will visit Ukraine on November 18-19. It is expected that the minister will come to the contact line in the Donbass.
