He informed RIA Novosti about this.

“We have an understanding that after Brexit, a number of adjustments will be required in the current regime of trade between Russia and the UK. Apparently, if we seriously want to approach this issue, then the British and I also need to sit down and look at the expert level what consequences Brexit will have for our economic relations. Work in this direction is already underway, ”Belyaev said.

According to him, in addition to trade issues, aspects related to merchant shipping, which was previously regulated by EU standards, as well as how the UK’s exit from the European Union will affect Russian companies operating on the London Stock Exchange, are considered.

Belyaev recalled the Russia-UK and Russia-EU consultations that took place in September at the WTO site and were dedicated to the distribution of tariff quotas in London and Brussels after the implementation of Brexit.

He also noted that economic cooperation between Russia and Great Britain continues despite the absence of political contacts, the country is interested in expanding trade and economic cooperation, and British companies are actively working on the Russian market.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also announced the possibility of strengthening British sanctions after Brexit.

It also became known that US President Donald Trump discussed with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson the trade relations of the two countries after Britain left the EU.

Earlier it became known that the European Union finally approved the postponement of Brexit until January 31, 2020.
