Joy and color in the Hong Kong night. Not far from Victoria Harbor, a tide of rainbow flags and especially smiles on the Place de l'Hotel de Ville. That the event can be held in such a context of tension is a relief, says Ben, 20, volunteer on this Gay Pride 2019.

" We were worried that the police would refuse to agree. After so much bad news, so much frustration for so long, we are so happy that the parry was able to stand, even in the form of a simple rally. "

A rally without incident and without intervention of the police. " Peace " and especially " Love ", says Aby Lee, Singaporean and co-organizer of the Pink Dot Hong Kong lesbian movement. " It's a colorful and musical day, it changes us from tear gas and rubber bullets. It's simply a question of freedom. Do as you wish, be good yourself. "

Be yourself. On the stage transformed into karaoke, the actors claim equal rights and same - sex marriage obtained in Taiwan , but not yet in the Hong Kong law. While among the spectators some resume the slogans of the protest and the anthem of Hong Kong played on the flute.
