Thousands of employees have been notified of dismissal and more than 130 of the Employment Service's local offices are closed and the authority's Director General Mikael Sjöberg will not be extended when his ordinance expires in March next year.

L requires meeting

Today, Liberal Party leader Nyamko Sabuni went out in a letter to Prime Minister Stefan Löfven calling for talks on the reform of the Employment Service.

- There is a concern among the public that we should take seriously and I want us to regain control of the process going forward. I want to discuss at the party leader level if the time is sufficient, ”she says in Aktuellt.

Could you not have foreseen that this was how it would go?

- We have an authority that is in chaos, by dismissing a number of people and that many are terminating themselves because there is no leadership at the Employment Service. It probably couldn't be predicted.

So you mean it has nothing to do with your political decisions, but this is because of the Public Employment Service?

- Yes, I mean it is the lack of leadership and efficiency. If we get a lead in place, it will need a little more time, ”she says in Aktuellt.

"They should like to have the time"

Employment Director General Mikael Sjöberg has previously told Svenska Dagbladet: "This is a very uncoordinated order and we would never have designed it in this order if we had the choice."

His image is that political decisions are behind the situation. Is there nothing in it?

- I do not know. I read his analysis saying that this is complex matter and time is running low. They should be happy to have that time, but I think it is just as important that we get a Director General in place.
