The Roads and Transport Authority and the Dubai Police General Headquarters have decided to increase the speed limit from 80 to 100 km / h on Tripoli Street from Emirates Road to before Nouakchott Street, and to increase the speed limit to 90 km / h by Nouakchott Street to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, starting tomorrow.

`` The decision was made in coordination with our strategic partners in Dubai Police General Headquarters, in light of extensive studies conducted by the Roads and Roads Authority, which was based on the Road Engineering and Speed Management Guidelines in Dubai, '' said Maitha Bin Adi, Executive Director of the Roads and Roads Authority.

She stressed that increasing the speed limit to 100 km / h does not include the entire extension of Tripoli Street, but non-urban areas in the part between Nouakchott Street and Emirates Road, while the speed was determined on the remaining part of the street, which connects the intersection of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Street Zayed and Nouakchott Street at 90 km / h, explaining that these adjustments took into account the basic engineering factors related to dealing with non-compliance with the specified speeds, in addition to increasing the use of the best means of traffic control.

For his part, Assistant General Commander of Operations in Dubai Police, Major-General Advisor Mohammed Saif Al-Zaffin, said that the necessary measures will be taken to change the speed control by radar devices to match the new speeds in accordance with what is in force in Dubai, stressing the continuation of consultation and coordination between Roads and Dubai Police General Headquarters to make decisions and study the current speeds on some roads that need to be adjusted or increased to the specified speed, in line with the vision of the Government of Dubai to enhance traffic safety on the streets of the Emirate.
