The New Zealand international opener Pau, Colin Slade, was put to forced rest for the next three months because of an accumulation of concussions, said Monday the club Bearn.

Slade, 32, victim of a concussion on October 12 in Lyon, saw a neurologist early last week before making a definitive diagnosis and make this decision in agreement with the club.

"The health and well-being of the player (are) placed before any other consideration," the section said in a statement. "The medical and sports staff of the Section will pay particular attention to his convalescence in order to allow him to return to his best level".

This commotion against the LOU is the third suffered in the past year by the world champion All Black, after that on October 27, 2018 on the field of Racing 92 and another during the pre-season summer preparation.

The rules of the National Rugby League stipulate that after three commotions suffered in a twelve-month period by a player, he must observe a three-month stop with an evaluation by two experts before authorizing the resumption.

Colin Slade's career has been marked by other concussions. In March 2017, he was also arrested for three months, already for a cumulated KO.

In his absence, the half-open position will be held by young Antoine Hastoy and Colin Slade's compatriot Tom Taylor.
