Donald Trump announced his decision in the middle of the night on Twitter. " Given the crazy and irrational hostility of Democrats and the media, we no longer consider National Doral Miami to host the G7 summit, " the US president said.

... Therefore, based on the Media and Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020. We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you!

A turnaround after two days of controversy. On Friday, his decision to hold this annual meeting in his own Florida golf hotel earned him strong criticism. Many see it as a conflict of interest contrary to the Constitution. Some even accusing him of wanting to get rich and to advertise his properties.

Camp David envisioned

At first, the White House denied any conflict of interest, assuring that the choice was made objectively for practical matters. Donald Trump had praised his facilities and assured that it would not pay him anything, on the contrary. " I thought I was doing something good for our country, " he tweeted last night.

The US president added that his administration would find another place to host the G7 leaders in 2020. Camp David would be an option, he said.

This is where the last summit organized by the United States in 2012 under the Obama presidency took place.
