Parents told Emirates Today that their children have not received some textbooks so far, even though more than a month and a half has passed since the start of the current school year.
Parents of high school students, Khalid Abdullah, Zakaria Al-Hindi, and Fatima Saeed, reported that each of the scientific subjects has two books, one of which is the "Practical" training book, which was received by the majority of the students and the "Student Book" which contains the lessons. Schools lack the number of copies.
"Our children had to rotate copies of books that were in short supply with their classmates so that they could review their lessons, who were only about one and a half months away from the first semester exams."
The director of a public school that the school suffered from a shortage of books in a number of subjects, since the beginning of the school year, and the Ministry of Education has worked to fill the shortage in the number of copies of books in stages, and the school no longer needs only a few copies, explaining that the ministry asked schools Inventory of excess copies of one article in each school, and began to pay the shortage of the same materials in other schools.
On the other hand, it was not possible to get a response from the ministry to a question by the "Emirates Today" on the mechanisms to provide books to students.
The school calendar for the current academic year showed that the winter vacation will begin on December 15, which will be after the completion of the exams of the first semester, which indicates that the remaining time to start exams slightly more than a month and a half.
