"The feeling is fantastic," says Glenn Hanzen, one of the founders of the club.

He describes the sport as a mix between tennis, table tennis and badminton, and highlights the benefits of sport:

A sport for everyone

- It's easy to learn. Even if you haven't held a racket before, you can play pickleball after three minutes of practice. Everyone can play, whether you are six, 66 or 96, he says and continues:

- There is no need to build new halls because you play on badminton courts with lowered networks. Another advantage of the sport is that it is not expensive to exercise.

Glenn Hanzen predicts a bright future for the sport in our oblong country.

The new folk sport

- There will be a folk sport of pickleball in Sweden. I think the number of practitioners will explode in three years, he says.

Four days a week, the hall in Knäred will be open to anyone who is curious to try the racket sport.

In a feature from SVT Jönköping, a representative for one of Sweden's first pickleball clubs, Sävsjö pickleball club, tells how the sport is going.
