He is 38, and the fence's golden years are somewhere between 30-35 years, explains Peter Lindholm.

- But it doesn't matter to me, I'm still one of the best in Sweden.

110 countries compete

On Tuesday, the flight goes to China. The competition is described as the Military Olympics and is held every four years. In total, nearly 9,000 athletes from 110 countries participate.

But besides being part-time military, Peter Lindholm is also a fencing trainer in Karlskrona. He has taken over the job when his grandfather retired.

- Both me and my brother are fencing. It is probably a sport that often goes in families, he says.

"I'm a racing person"

But if he bets on gold he doesn't want to answer.

- It's more important for me to have fun and enjoy this venture before I put all the focus on my family.

Could this be your last race?

- It won't be, I'm too much of a competition person, he says.
