The Bundestag called for the "first step" in lifting sanctions against Russia

Sandra Weser, a member of the Free Democratic Party, said sanctions should be relaxed if progress is made in implementing the Minsk Agreements.

Member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany Bernd Westphal called on Germany to support the French leader Emmanuel Macron's line of rapprochement with Moscow. He believes that after five years of restrictive measures, Germany needs to “take the first step”.

At the same time, the chairman of the Bundestag committee on economics and energy, Klaus Ernst (Party of the Left), called the chances that Berlin would be able to lift the sanctions at the EU level high. According to him, Germany suffered the most from sanctions.

Earlier, the Bundestag said that the West wants to oust Russia from the gas market.
