2015 Criticized building permits

SVT's Mission Review notes that the municipality of Österåkers has granted several building permits to the Douglas family and the area around Douglas Marina in Säbyviken, despite the fact that it was beach protected land. In retrospect, the municipality then tried to make the black building legal by adopting a new detailed plan. The detailed plan for Säbyviken's marina has been appealed to the Supreme Court, which this summer referred the case to the Land and Environmental Court.

In the Assignment Review Review of Österåker Municipality, it was also revealed that the building committee's then chairman Jan Olov Sundström (M) and his wife Ingela Gardner Sundström (M) received a million discount on a lease of the Douglas family.

2015 Criticism of increased fees

City Council Chairman Ingela Gardner Sundström (M) is a member of the fees committee, which proposes a substantial increase in fees to politicians. Among other things, the chairman of the merged community building committee will receive almost five times higher annual fees, which leads to criticism. The chairman of the community building committee is Gardner Sundström's husband.

2012 Affected officials' salaries

The chairman of the municipal council in Österåker, the moderate Michaela Fletcher Sjöman, has on several occasions stepped in and affected the salaries of individual officials.

"I wanted it to appear in the pay envelope for some key people who are important to the local government," said Michaela Fletcher Sjöman (M).

- You violate the municipal law and the entire organization in the municipality. You step in and ignore all the legal rules and do as you please, commented Olle Lundin, professor of criminal justice and expert on municipal law. The act faced criticism from both private individuals and former politicians in Österåker.

According to the administrative law, however, the conduct of an individual official cannot be examined by law. It must be a decision of a proxy, committee or federal board that is needed to get the matter examined.

2012 "Clear case of delicacy"

Two people in the officials' management group in the municipality had a relationship without telling them. The woman was used as a reference when the man searched and subsequently got a managerial job in the municipality. In addition, the woman outsourced consulting assignments to her partner before he got the job in the municipality.

- The fact that you put an assignment on your lover is a very clear case of delicacy, and contravenes the municipal law. It's inevitable, said Olle Lundin, a professor of administrative law, 2012.

The municipal director would deal with the fact that the people did not tell about their relationship, but was fired by the chairman of the municipal council Michaela Fletcher Sjöman. The municipal director received SEK 1.7 million in severance pay.
