The socialist presidents of Aragón and Castilla-La Mancha , Javier Lambán and Emiliano García-Page, met on Tuesday in Molina de Aragón, a border town between the two communities, to address common problems such as depopulation and regional financing.

In the subsequent press conference, after being asked about the transfer of 250 million euros from the regional liquidity fund that the Ministry of Finance will make to the Valencian Community, Lambán's response has been blunt: "I can say that neither Aragón , neither Castilla-La Mancha nor any other autonomous community will have a different treatment from the one that Valencia will have and the one that the president of the Community of Valencia will have. "

The new regional financing model, which both leaders urgently demand from the State, must take into account, in their opinion, where people live and "offer equal opportunities in basic services."

García Page explained that the singularities regarding competencies "go apart, but the bulk of the financing cannot be subjected to a concept of bilaterality. Here we sit down to negotiate the model for all communities, whoever governs them governs them."

Regarding the amounts pending to transfer to the communities because the Government is in office, Lambán has declared that "no autonomy will accept dispensing with that money because it belongs to us".

After indicating that tensions and problems are already emerging due to this delay, which in the case of Aragon are 400 million euros, the Aragonese president said: "We hope that this problem is solved in a sensible and peaceful way because, otherwise, surely the autonomous communities would have to resort to other types of formulas to demand it. "

Both leaders consider depopulation as a state problem and a priority in the design of interior Spain. When facing it, they believe that "or we should think only of problems such as those that arise in Catalonia and other autonomous communities with centrifugal tendencies, fear that we should think about how to face the problem of the interior of Spain that has to have the same opportunities as Spain of the coast ".

García-Page has recognized the coincidences with his Aragonese homonym regarding autonomy, the financing model and the current situation of national politics.

That is why they agreed that "Spain does not deserve new elections." García Page has indicated that he would like that "in these hours there could be the flexibility that has been lacking in these months. Spain does not deserve a new election in which the citizens are blamed".

In case the elections are repeated, they reject that the formation of the new Government depends on the independentistas.

In this regard, Lambán has declared: "It seems to me absolutely undesirable that the governance of Spain depends, by active or passive, on independentist parties or parties like Bildu."
