09 September 2019The risk of lung cancer is not the same for all heavy smokers and for the first time a personalized screening for early diagnosis has been identified. This is demonstrated by the bioMILD study of the National Cancer Institute of Milan. Low-dose thoracic spiral CT radiation (LDCT) and microRNA tests on blood are the two tests that, in combination, can change the fate of heavy smokers and subjects at high risk of developing lung cancer.
