Two people are suspected of being behind the attack, one of which has been arrested. One of the suspects must have been armed with a knife and the other with a cooking skewer.
The knife attack took place at 4.30 pm on Saturday near a metro station in Villeurbanne near Lyon, writes Le Parisien. Sources for the magazine state that around 20-30 people were involved.
It is unclear whether this is a terrorist attack.
A police operation is ongoing at the scene. Military has also been deployed.
