A man murders two women at a university in Mexico. The attack occurs two days after massive marches are held in the country on the occasion of International Women's Day.
Mexico faces serious problems of gender violence. In 2023 alone, 852 femicides were committed, according to official figures. "UTEG University Center emphatically condemns what happened today and extends our most sincere condolences to the families of our collaborators," says a statement from the university. The state prosecutor, Luis Joaquín Méndez, has assured that a man of approximately 20 years old murdered two women with a knife, without the motive being known.
