France's Madeleine Malonga (-78kg) qualified for the final at the World Judo Championships by defeating Brazilian Mayra Aguiar, N.1 World, Friday in Tokyo, one year from the 2020 Olympics in the Japanese capital.

In the final, Malonga (25), European Champion 2018 and seventh for her first Worlds a year ago, will face the Japanese Shori Hamada, reigning world champion and N.3 world.

To access it, she was awarded by ippon the double world champion (2014 and 2017) and double Olympic bronze medalist (2012 and 2016) in the semifinals. Previously, she had already dismissed her first three opponents of the day by ippon.

On the penultimate day of individual competition, the France team is already assured of winning a fifth medal.
