PCF spokesman Ian Brossat said on Friday he was "wary of the arrogant and bombastic speeches" of environmentalist leader Yannick Jadot, adding that he is "reassured that the melon season is coming to an end soon".
Asked about a possible alliance with the Greens for the next municipal elections, Ian Brossat, deputy Socialist Anne Hidalgo mayor of Paris, found that Yannick Jadot "said a lot that he wants to win, win, win, all alone" .
"I'm a little suspicious of the arrogant and grandiloquent speeches we hear right now," said PCF spokesman Sud Radio, who said he was "reassured that the melon season is coming to an end soon".
"We have to be humble and modest and I think that even when we made 13% (EELV score in the last European elections, ed), we can not consider that we are only able to win," insisted Ian Brossat . "We will have to discuss and to discuss, it takes a little humility".
For the March 2020 municipal elections in Paris, he also rejected a possible collaboration with Cédric Villani, who could announce on Wednesday a dissident candidacy but who is today "deputy of La République en Marche, he voted all the laws proposed by Emmanuel Macron ".
The spokesman said he was in favor of local alliances with "the socialists, (...) the ecologists, the various left forces" including France Insubord. "The left can only win if it is united," he said.
