A teenager has pulled a huge arsenal of weapons, including grenades and knives, from Britain's waterways, since he began fishing with magnets to stave off street problems.

George Tyndall, 13, has recovered a variety of rivers and canals thanks to an unusual hobby he began to practice with his father (Kevin, 50) just a year ago.

In the past four weeks, the student uncovered two unexploded bombs, two pistols for army officers, and a large dagger. The weapons were handed over to the police after they were withdrawn from the Suar River in Leicester, and the bomb squad had to be called. George revealed a staggering toll, consisting of five rifles, 50 knives and three bombs, which he caught 12 months ago. 55 shopping trolleys, mobile phones, safes, electric appliances, lawn mowers and four motorcycles were also discovered, some of which were returned to their owners. The teenager says he began his unusual hobby after watching an online video of magnet hunting in August last year.

He created a live YouTube channel called Magnet C, and shared his discoveries with nearly half a million people, with more than 2,200 subscribers worldwide.

"Magnet hunters find it very rare to find so many things in a river, so pulling that number is very rare," George said. "We have some amazing discoveries. Some pieces might be there for decades, if not centuries. We hand over all the weapons to the police so that they can be verified and recovered if the police make sure they are safe, ”he concluded.“ It doesn't believe what people throw in rivers. ”
