The American star Scarlett Johansson, the now famous black widow of Marvel, remained in 2019 the highest paid actress in the world, for the second year in a row, according to the annual ranking of Forbes magazine published Friday.

And if the actresses in the top 10 have this year all won more than 20 million dollars, pay inequalities are also hard in Hollywood: despite the 56 million dollars received, Scarlett Johansson only arrives at the eighth place in the ranking for all comedians, men and women combined.

The 34-year-old actress, who will resume her role as Black Widow next year for a film derived from the Avengers, has yet earned 15.5 million more than in 2018, mainly thanks to the worldwide success of the latest installment of the saga, "Avengers: Endgame", which earned him a check for some 35 million.

But for comparison, Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man alongside him in the Marvel saga, was paid about $ 55 million for his role in the same movie. According to the Forbes ranking of the best-paid male actors released Wednesday, Robert Downey Jr. comes third with 66 million overall, behind Dwayne Johnson (89.4 million) and fellow superhero Chris Hemsworth (76.4 million) .
