“Nothing has changed, we have a lot of mosquitoes that transmit vector-borne infections, they lived and live with us all the time,” TASS reports.
The department emphasized that the geophysical position of the region "is such that it does not allow many infections to spread."
“If in other countries mosquitoes bite and infect, we have a different situation in the region,” they added to Rospotrebnadzor.
As noted, mosquitoes do not like hot weather, and in the region in 2019 the summer is not hot, but humid, and mosquito larvae persisted.
“If in hot weather over 32-33 degrees the larvae die, this year they survived due to moisture. Therefore, a lot of mosquitoes, the incidence was recorded. No outbreaks, no viruses, isolated cases of yellow fever are recorded, ”the representative of the department emphasized.
Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper, citing scientists, wrote that populations of two types of mosquitoes - carriers of deadly diseases - spread on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory.
In May, Rospotrebnadzor warned of a worsening epidemiological situation in France due to the period of activation of mosquitoes - disease vectors.
