American Christian Coleman, the 100m runner-up in the world, may miss the Doha Worlds (27 September - 6 October) because of three shortcomings in his anti-doping localization in one year, several media reports said Thursday.

The fastest sprinter of the year (9 sec 81), 23-year-old Christian Coleman would have missed three times his whereabouts in one year, which is an anti-doping offense, and would seek to challenge one of they to avoid a suspension, announce several media including the British site of the newspaper Daily Mail, which revealed the information by quoting "sources close".

If he fails to justify these deficiencies, Coleman, vice-world champion in the 100m in 2017 behind compatriot Justin Gatlin but before the legend Usain Bolt, risk a two-year suspension, reduced to a year at best. It could also miss the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Contacted by AFP, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) declined to comment, and Christian Coleman's agent could not be reached.

The US National Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), responsible for investigating a possible file, did not wish to confirm the existence of a case involving Coleman.

"For any potential anti-doping violation, a full investigation is conducted, then the case must be resolved before USADA makes the information public," the organization told AFP.
