Thousands of Algerian students went out to protest what they called "the disregard of power by the people's demands."

Protesters believe that the crisis in their country is exacerbated, because of the adherence of power to the men of the regime of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The demonstrators chanted slogans such as "a civilian state, a military (not) military", "a free democratic Algeria" and others.

The demonstrators, who gathered in the central postal square in the heart of Algiers, condemned what they described as "media provocation and lack of professionalism in the media institutions in Algeria."

The protesters demanded the liberation of "prisoners of opinion and Amazigh banner", refusing to have any dialogue before submitting to the demands of the people.

The students responded to the recent speech by interim President Abdelkader Bensalah with slogans condemning the government and the president.

The protesters refuse to interact with Ben Saleh's calls for dialogue, as one of Bouteflika's closest names.
