“Boyko, together with representatives of his party and faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, may come to Crimea for direct communication with Crimeans,” he said.

According to him, Boyko should form a clear position on the Crimea and prohibit members of his party, "who came to power in the rhetoric of establishing relations with Russia", from making "provocative and inconsistent" statements.

Hempel added that if the visit of the Ukrainian side is approved by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the representatives of Crimea are ready to meet the delegation.

Thus, Hempel commented on the statement of the deputy from the Boyko party, Oleg Voloshin, that Russia was allegedly "a warring party on the issue of Crimea."

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
