• Analysis: Pedro Sánchez creates a perfect "story" to torpedo the pact with Pablo Iglesias
  • Politics: Unions pressure PSOE and Podemos: "Spain does not have to go to another call for elections"

The acting Government President, Pedro Sánchez, has decided to postpone the round of contacts with the political parties until the end of August or the beginning of September, as he himself has confirmed just before meeting with representatives of the cultural and artistic world in Madrid .

This has been Sánchez's last meeting with civil society groups. From now on, he will dedicate the remainder of the month of August to "systematize and summarize" all the proposals and initiatives received from the different associations in order to present an "open program" that can be the basis of the agreement for a future "government progressive".

Sanchez explained that his intention is to meet with the PRC, PNV and the Catalan nationalist forces and, also, he added, with United We Can. At first he has not cited either PP, Citizens or Vox. Regarding the formation of Albert Rivera, he has taken for granted that he will not lend himself to the meeting, as the orange leadership stated. Regarding the PP, it has subsequently ensured its intention to maintain a contact although it will only be for you to comply with its "responsibility" and "facilitate the formation of Government".
