China on Thursday denounced the rules announced the day before by the United States banishing the giant technology Huawei and other Chinese companies from the US public markets, accusing Washington of "abuse of power."

This interim regulation, which will prevent any US federal agency from acquiring telecommunications or technological equipment from these groups as of August 13, is the latest episode of the Trump Administration's campaign against Huawei in the United States. United. US officials say the Chinese group is linked to Beijing's intelligence services.

"The abuse of US power to stigmatize and eliminate some of the deliberately unscrupulous Chinese companies seriously undermines the image of the United States and its own interests," said the minister's spokeswoman. Chinese Foreign Minister Hua Chunying.

"We strongly support Chinese companies to take the legal means to protect their legitimate rights and interests," she said in a statement posted on the internet.

This ban is the last episode of the commercial tussle between Washington and Beijing.

Last week, US President Donald Trump announced an additional 10% tax on September 1 on almost all Beijing exports that were not yet subject to additional tariffs.

He denounced on Monday a "manipulation of the currency" on the part of the Chinese, reacting to a depreciation of the yuan.

Huawei is also facing a ban on US companies selling technology products to it, again in the name of national security.

This measure, suspended until mid-August, could prevent it from obtaining essential hardware and software, including smartphones chips and key elements of the Google Android operating system.

In addition to Huawei, the measures announced Wednesday also ban US public contracts to Chinese companies ZTE, Hytera Communications Corporation, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company and Dahua Technology Company.

They are subject to a 60-day comment period and implement a prohibition included in the congressionally approved defense law earlier this year.

Huawei said it would challenge these measures in federal court.
