Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend a summit forum in Beijing on February 25-27, the Russian ambassador to China said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said yesterday that Russia and the United States are among the most important players in the forum.

"President Putin will be given the opportunity to address the forum and to express his views on 'one to one' initiatives and other international initiatives related to it," he said.

"I do not think he will be able to visit other cities in China because of President Putin's brief visit to China," he said.
