A woman should have stabbed her partner first with a long knife and then dismembered the corpse with two chainsaws. The incident took place in June in Steinau on the road in the German state of Hesse.

The prosecutor Hanau brought charges against the 35-year-old. The woman is accused of killing her partner with a kitchen knife. Dozens of stab wounds have been counted, some of them in the victim's back.

Then the woman is said to have dismembered the corpse with two electric chainsaws, packed the parts in garbage bags and dumped them in the bathroom. "A remarkable act," said Attorney Dominik Mies.

Six days after the crime, the body parts were found after the woman herself informed the police. She was arrested in her birthplace Dortmund. She told the police she stabbed her friend out of self-defense. Before that he should have attacked her. She had cut the corpse to cover up the crime.

The district court Hanau has to decide on the admission of the indictment and the opening of the procedure.
