A 55-year-old cyclist was found dead on a country road in the Brandenburg district Dahme-Spree after a traffic accident late Friday evening. The police asked the community on Saturday to help find the alleged cause of the accident. This had fled after the accident, without taking care of the cyclist.

Because of the traces it can be assumed that the car collided with the cyclist and this died after a fall, the investigators said. Detective officers were able to secure vehicle parts at the scene of the accident. Therefore, the police suspect that the vehicle is a silver-colored vans of the type Mercedes Vito / Viano.

A witness had accordingly discovered the dead at around 11.15 pm on a county road between the villages of Kreblitz and Kasel-Golzig. The accident itself is likely to have occurred after the previous investigation within an hour before.

The police are now looking for the driver of the pickup truck and looking for possible witnesses.
