The two main responsible persons in the Miesbach "Sparkassen affair" have to go to jail for several months. As the Munich Higher Regional Court announced, the then CEO of Sparkasse Miesbach-Tegernsee, Georg Bromme, is to be held in custody for 20 months in 18 cases for infidelity.

The former chairman of the board of directors of the Sparkasse, District Administrator Jakob Kreidl (CSU), was convicted of embezzlement in seven cases to eleven months imprisonment. Another defendant was warned.

The court considered it proved that the men had financed several trips of the Bank's Board of Directors and a tour of information for mayors. They had no direct relation to the business activities of Kreissparkasse (you can find out more about the case here)

According to the indictment, there had been cliques between the Sparkasse and the district. Kreidl is said to have celebrated his 60th birthday celebration for more than 66,000 euros at the expense of the Sparkasse. Later, the district took over part of the costs.

However, Kreidl and Bromme were acquitted of the accusation of granting benefits or accepting benefits. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
