Horror film cliché "Scream Queen"

Distinctive experience: The cheap-produced horror film "Halloween" (1978) was the first film by Jamie Lee Curtis - and also their breakthrough. As babysitter Laurie Strode, she was persecuted by psychopath Michael Myers. After the "Halloween" success, in a series of similar Slasher films superhumanly strong, male violent perpetrators with knives pursued their mostly young, female victims. They had little to oppose - except screaming. So Curtis came to the questionable honorary title "Scream Queen".
