When Maria Frischholz disappeared, she was just twelve years old. That was in May 1976, since then the girl lacks any trace. The police assume that the student was murdered and is now looking for her in a forest near Waldkirch in the Upper Palatinate after her, as it says in a police message.

According to the Bayerischer Rundfunk, the investigators found in their search on a car buried in the forest floor. It should therefore already be there for a long time and rot. As a result, officials are trying to excavate the vehicle in the afternoon with an excavator.

"Our investigations have now taken us so far that we want to investigate this possible location of the Monika in more detail," said Kriminalhauptkommissar Armin Bock of the investigation group Froschau. "No matter how this first investigation will be, we will not give up!"
