In the process of the beating attack of four young asylum seekers on passers-by in the Bavarian Amberg, there was an agreement among the parties involved in the proceedings. The tribunal held out the prospect of three to four defendants on probation in exchange for a confession of between six months and one and a half years probation. Only the accused as the main perpetrator must therefore expect a prison sentence, threaten him between 26 and 30 months of juvenile detention.

All four defendants read statements from their defense lawyers with comprehensive confessions. In it, the adolescents from Afghanistan and Iran regretted their actions. 17- to 19-year-olds declared that it came to the attacks, especially with excessive alcohol consumption and consumption of narcotics.

Nearly a hundred witnesses interviewed

The prosecution accuses the refugees of having attacked at the end of December in the Upper Palatinate city indiscriminately 21 people, of which 15 were injured. The attacks had led to a nationwide debate about more consistent deportations of foreign criminals.

The investigators heard after the attacks nearly a hundred witnesses and evaluated numerous video recordings, so that the action could be reconstructed. Attorney General Joachim Diesch had said at the conclusion of the investigation that probably a combination of boredom, alcohol and group dynamics was the reason for the deeds. The events were to be considered regardless of the origin of the four accused.

For the trial, 25 trial days are scheduled until July.
