In this regard, a Ministry of Finance official stated that in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake, although more than 650 billion yen was invested in ground elevation work in three prefectures in the Tohoku region, nearly 30% of the land was left unused due to population decline and other factors. He pointed out that there are cases where this is not the case.



On top of that, we recommended that intensive urban development should be considered, taking into consideration the wishes of residents, as future demand forecasts and the burden of maintaining infrastructure will be issues for recovery and reconstruction following the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. did.



Committee members expressed the opinion that compact town planning is needed with future generations in mind, and that consideration should be given to the actual circumstances of each region when proceeding with discussions.
