The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) dinosaur character "Frankie" appeared in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, calling for stronger efforts to prevent global warming.

"Frankie" is a dinosaur character that appeared in a video released by UNDP three years ago.He suddenly appeared on the floor of the United Nations General Assembly and asked, "The extinction of dinosaurs was caused by a meteorite, but what is humanity's excuse?" A video of him giving a speech saying, ``Stop making excuses and stand up to deal with the climate crisis'' has gone viral.

Franky has been touring countries such as the United States and Egypt to raise awareness about global warming countermeasures, and this was his first visit to Japan.

On the 8th, Franky appeared in Shibuya Center Gai and, through a Japanese interpreter, called on each and every citizen to tackle the issues of energy conservation and food loss, saying, ``If we all work together, we will definitely be able to protect the environment.'' .

Together with young people from environmental protection groups, they marched through Center Gai, calling out, ``Now is the time to stop the progress of climate change.''

Frankie will be in Japan until the 13th of this month, participating in events with the theme of climate change and meeting with members of Congress.
