The Hokkaido Prefectural Government investigated the behavior of Liberal Democratic Party member Gaku Hasegawa, a member of the Hokkaido House of Councilors constituency, which they felt was intimidating to some senior Hokkaido officials. It has been revealed that the expenses incurred by the four people on business trips to Tokyo and other places amounted to approximately 5.5 million yen last year. The government says that all of its operations were carried out appropriately.

Regarding the behavior of the Liberal Democratic Party's House of Councilors member Gaku Hasegawa, it was confirmed in a Hokkaido interview that several senior officials said that they felt he was intimidating as he used harsh language when explaining policies, etc., and Governor Suzuki said on the 5th of this month, I requested that the response be changed.

In addition, when providing explanations to Mr. Hasegawa, Michi investigated in detail the number of times and expenses that four of Michi's executives had traveled to offices in Tokyo over the past year.

According to the results, the four people made a total of 70 business trips, costing approximately 5.5 million yen, of which the person with the largest amount made 30 business trips, costing approximately 2.3 million yen.

Additionally, 16 of the 70 business trips, or over 20%, were for the sole purpose of meeting or having a meeting with Mr. Hasegawa.

While Hokkaido has said that it carried out its work appropriately in all necessary business trips, it is expanding the scope of its interviews regarding Mr. Hasegawa's words and actions to ascertain the facts.

Mr. Hasegawa said in an interview with NHK, ``In order to move forward with policies together with the prefecture and achieve results in a short period of time, there were many face-to-face meetings involving national ministries and agencies. All of these were unavoidable. It was a necessary response."
