Hitomi Soga, who was abducted by North Korea and later returned to Japan, will be in charge of the abduction issue at the city hall of Sado City, Niigata Prefecture, starting in April, and will be giving lectures to people visiting the city.

Hitomi Soga was abducted by North Korea in August 1978 along with her mother Miyoshi while returning from shopping at a store near her home in Sado City. She later returned to Japan, but Miyoshi's whereabouts are still unknown. I don't understand.

Since returning to Japan, Mr. Soga has continued to campaign for signatures calling for a resolution to the abduction issue while working as a Sado City employee. From the 1st of this month, Mr. He began working in the abduction victim response section.

Her main job is to give lectures all over the country and communicate about the abduction issue to children and others visiting Sado City on school trips.

Mr. Soga said, ``I want to meet the abductees who have not been able to return home to their families as soon as possible. My mother, Miyoshi, is 92 years old and the parents of the family group are aging. I feel strongly that there is no time left, and I would like to work more closely with related organizations than ever before."
