In Abidjan, in an exclusive interview given to RFI and France24, Stéphane Séjourné, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, looks back on his first tour in sub-Saharan Africa. He affirms that we must “restore positivism to relations between France and Africa”. Asked about the conditioning of support for Israel in the 7th month of war in Gaza, Stéphane Séjourné declares that it will take “levers of influence” on Israel to open humanitarian crossing points. He maintains that it is “not useful” to recognize Palestine as a state “without introducing it into a peace process”. The head of diplomacy also discusses support for Ukraine, the Haitian crisis and recent contacts with Moscow.
