A man from Stuttgart died in a crash in the Austrian Alps. As the police in Tyrol reported, the 43-year-old set off alone on a tour to the Schneidspitze in the Wängle area the day before. In a video message he told his relatives that he was stopping the hike just below the approximately 2,000 meter high summit and turning back.

After the hiker did not return on Saturday, his family alerted the police. On Sunday, the crew of a police helicopter discovered the dead missing man in steep terrain below the summit near the border with Bavaria. Based on the tracks, the police assume that he slipped on a snowfield and fell around 150 meters.
