Yaman had promised his mother that he would build her a new house after the end of the war, instead of their house, which was destroyed by Israeli warplanes in Gaza City.

On January 17, Yaman, his younger brother Rayan, and three of their aunts were martyred in an Israeli bombing of Gaza, and their mother mourned them, saying that they would build her a house in heaven.
