Guest on the set of France 5, François Hollande did not fail to return to the legal cases concerning Gérard Depardieu, indicted for acts of rape and sexual assault. For the former head of state, it is unthinkable that we can still be tolerant of the actor's behavior.

This Thursday, April 4, the former President of the Republic François Hollande was invited on the set of the show “C à vous” broadcast on France 5. Present to discuss his comic strip

“How could we have this level of tolerance?”

François Hollande was particularly virulent towards the actor, but also towards all those who revealed nothing. "We didn't know what could happen, but we saw a character adrift. He was an aggressor, not just for women, but also for his own country and its representatives," he assured. "He felt free. Nothing could touch him. He had transgressed all the rules. He had touched the essentials, women's bodies, his own country, relationships with money and taxes. He could get away with anything and what's more, with a form of tolerance from all circles".

The former head of state continued by assuring that he did not understand the complacency from which Gérard Depardieu benefited. "When he attacked France, including me, it should have been a mass uprising. The press should have said 'this is not possible'. When he was with Putin, we should have said no. And even with women, it was known... How could we have this level of tolerance? And this, until today.

“I am not going to recall here the statements that were made on your set,” he recalled, referring to the comments made by Emmanuel Macron. The latter assured on December 20 that Depardieu "made France proud", a statement that was strongly criticized. “We cannot be tolerant of those who behave like this with young women, with the tax authorities and with their own country,” François Hollande then concluded on the set of the magazine.
