After the violent death of a man at Dortmund harbor on Thursday evening, the police have provisionally arrested four underage suspects. The four arrested were two underage children and two young people aged 14 and 15, the police and public prosecutor's office in Dortmund announced on Friday.

The victim is a 31-year-old man who most recently had no known address. In an initial statement on Thursday evening, investigators initially reported a victim who had not yet been identified and four people who had been arrested.

Apparently a chance encounter

According to reports, witnesses observed an argument and called the police. Four people fled, but were temporarily arrested a few minutes later. According to the current status of the investigation, it can now be assumed "that the four arrested people met the victim by chance at the port," it said on Friday. The possible murder knife was tracked down by a police dog near the crime scene.

The investigators said on Friday that the two children had already been released from police custody after their hearings. According to the information, the two young people are being represented by a lawyer and should be questioned later in the day. “Then it will be decided whether they will be brought before the magistrate.” A murder squad was set up.
