The military and strategic expert, Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, said that the Israeli occupation army continues to announce unreal numbers of its deaths and injuries in its military operation in the Gaza Strip, pointing out that it nevertheless affects the morale of its soldiers.

Earlier, the Israeli army announced that 5 soldiers were injured in the battles of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, which brings the number of injured since the beginning of the war to 3,193 officers and soldiers, including 1,552 during the ground operation, 497 of whom were seriously wounded, while the death toll reached 600 soldiers and officers.

In a military analysis for Al Jazeera, Al-Duwairi believes that what the occupation army announces does not represent the reality on the ground in Gaza, and this is confirmed by a comparison with the numbers announced by the Palestinian resistance forces, which are more accurate, as well as the numbers issued by the occupation’s military hospitals regarding the numbers of injured and dead, which are more accurate.

Al-Duwairi pointed out that despite the army’s keenness to hide correct information and prevent local and foreign media from directly covering the situation in Gaza, the modest numbers it announces of its deaths and injuries reflect negatively on the morale of the soldiers, in light of the continued deaths and injuries, even in limited numbers.

The military expert again referred to the number of vehicles that were destroyed during the ground operation, which exceeded 1,100 vehicles weeks ago, as no announcements were issued detailing the total numbers of those destroyed vehicles. He also confirms that what the occupation army announces does not represent more than 30% of the real numbers of dead and injured in His ranks.

Regarding the sanctions announced by the army against the backdrop of the investigation into the killing of foreign aid workers, Al-Duwairi believes that they are classified as the lowest level of military sanctions in armies, as there is nothing less than a reprimand, and a major and a colonel were isolated, while those truly responsible for making the targeting decision were not punished. .

Al-Duwairi excludes the possibility that the incident occurred by mistake. In his estimation, it is a deliberate and intentional targeting in light of the existence of previous coordination with the international kitchen team that contradicts the alleged possibility of error. In this context, he pointed out that there is a contradiction in the statements of Israeli officials regarding the incident.

The military expert believes that the occupation army did not use artificial intelligence in the manner known to armies, as targeting decisions are issued through databases that are fed from available algorithms.

Al-Duwairi adds that Israel leaves the final decision on targeting to an officer who has this data in front of him, which increases the number of casualties, while relying on artificial intelligence is supposed to help reduce civilian casualties by identifying targets more accurately.
