Cherry blossoms bloomed on the 5th, 11 days later than last year, at Takato Castle Ruins Park in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot that is also known as ``the best cherry blossoms in the world.''

Takato Castle Ruins Park in Takato-cho, Ina City is home to approximately 1,500 cherry trees of an endemic species called ``Takato Ohiganzakura,'' which are also called ``the best cherry blossoms in the world'' due to their stunning scenery.

On the 5th, it was confirmed that five or more flowers were blooming on the cherry blossoms on the south side of the park, and Mayor Takashi Shiratori declared them to be in full bloom.

According to Ina City, this year's cherry blossoms will bloom 11 days later than last year, partly due to the continuous cold weather last month.

Many of the cherry blossoms in the park were still in bud, but many visitors came to see them, strolling around, taking photos, and enjoying the arrival of spring.

A man visiting from Aichi Prefecture said, ``My hometown is already in full bloom, but here it looks like it's about to start.I would definitely like to visit when it's in full bloom.''

Mayor Shiratori said, ``The park still has cherry blossoms that were planted 150 years ago, so I want people to enjoy it while thinking about the history of the area.''

The cherry blossoms at Takato Castle Ruins Park will be at their best around the 10th of this month if the weather continues to be warm, and the cherry blossoms will be illuminated from the 9th of this month.
