When the construction contractor inspected the concrete used in the construction of two tower condominiums under construction in the bay area of Chuo Ward, Tokyo, it was discovered that some of the samples lacked strength. This condominium was scheduled to go on sale from the end of this month, but the sale has been temporarily suspended so that the builder and others can take a closer look.

Sales will be suspended for two 189-meter-tall, 53-story tower condominiums currently under construction in Toyomi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

Construction of this condominium began in January last year as a redevelopment project to rebuild aging apartment complexes in the bay area, and construction was progressing with the aim of completion in 2026.

However, when Shimizu Corporation, which was in charge of the design and construction, conducted sample tests to check the strength of the concrete, it was discovered that some of the concrete did not meet the standard values.

Shimizu Corporation commented, ``We will proceed with discussions with related parties to investigate the cause and take countermeasures,'' and will look into the inspection results in more detail.

Meanwhile, Mitsui Fudosan Residential, which sells condominiums, has temporarily suspended sales scheduled for late this month. The reopening date has not yet been determined.
