This Saturday, April 6 at 12 in the morning, the

long-awaited wedding

will take place between the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida (48) and his fiancée, Teresa Urquijo Moreno de Borbón (27), second niece of King Felipe VI. The wedding will be held at the San Francisco de Borja church, known as Los Jesuitas and located in the famous Salamanca neighborhood of the capital.

As in any wedding, and even more so in those with a pompadour, all the focus is on the bride and what the dress chosen will be like to go to the altar. Teresita, the nickname by which Martínez-Almeida's fiancée is known, does not seem like she is going to follow any bridal trend with a new outfit, but rather she will opt for

family tradition

with a dress full of history.

Everything indicates that Teresa Urquijo will 'inherit' the wedding dress that her grandmother Teresa de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, cousin of the King Emeritus, wore at her wedding to Íñigo Moreno in 1961. The look consisted of a resounding pattern in a brocade fabric, with floral details on the satin base, bell effect and

embroidered with silver threads

. White in color, she wore a bateau neckline, typical of the time, and elbow-length sleeves.

Teresita's grandmother complemented it with long

white gloves

and also a veil held by a large flower headdress.

More than three decades later (1995), the dress returned to a church. In this case, it was carried out by Beatriz Moreno y de Borbón, mother of the future wife of José Luis Martínez-Almeida. Beatriz, Teresa de Borbón's fourth daughter, wore the same dress as her mother and will pass the baton next Saturday.

The accessories did change from one to another: for example, Teresita's mother chose a

diamond tiara

and a different veil, which we will also see in the future link. This will not happen with the tiara, a jewel that is no longer in the family's possession, according to 'Vanitatis'.

But following a family tradition like this doesn't mean the dress doesn't need an update. The piece, considered a jewel dress, has been modified in the atelier of

Cristina Navascués

, a relative of her future husband. Now the questions focus on what

jewelry

she will wear and what

hairstyle will be chosen

.
