He is one of the best-known and most recognized French-speaking economists in Africa: Kako Nubukpo, UEMOA commissioner in charge of Agriculture, Water Resources and the Environment, comes out of his media silence after a year of discretion. At the microphone of Bruno Faure and Julien Clémençot (RFI), he delivers his analyzes on the major current issues in Africa. The former Togolese minister first comments on the coming to power in Senegal of Bassirou Diomaye Faye and his Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko accompanied by promises of economic reforms, particularly in monetary matters with the possible abandonment of the CFA Franc also demanded by the Alliance of Sahel States (Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso). In this rich and direct interview, it is also a question of the divisions within ECOWAS, the issues of agricultural sovereignty on the continent, the remuneration of cocoa producers in Côte d'Ivoire, the standoff in Togo with the will of President Faure Gnassingbé to reform the constitution. At the end of the show, Kako Nubukpo gives her feelings on the controversy surrounding the Franco-Malian singer Aya Nakamura and her possible performance during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. What does she say about the relationship between France and French-speaking Africa?
