So it wasn't a wink after all: Lizzo has contradicted reports that she was retiring from the music business. A few days ago, the singer caused a stir with a post that ended with: “I quit.” Or in German: “I’ll stop.”

Lizzo now explained that she wanted to say that she would stop paying attention to negative energy. »What I won't end is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting people with each other.«

She's tired of being pushed around in her life and on the Internet. She constantly has to defend herself against lies that are told about her. In addition, Lizzo continues, people make fun of her because of her looks.

The artist, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, was confronted with serious allegations from three dancers last summer. The working environment at Lizzo's concerts was toxic and there were incidents of discrimination and sexual harassment. The three women filed suit against her in Los Angeles court.

Lizzo, whose songs are often about self-love and self-determination, called the allegations false. "I don't normally respond to inaccurate allegations, but these are just as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous not to respond to," she wrote on Instagram at the time. Lizzo wrote that she takes nothing more seriously than respect for women. The allegations hurt her.

Shortly afterwards, a fashion designer also made similar allegations. Asha Daniels, who says she designed clothes for dancers on Lizzo's tour and was fired, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the singer and other members of her team.

A spokesperson for Lizzo also denied these allegations to NBC. It is an "absurd publicity lawsuit" from someone who "has never actually met Lizzo or even spoken to her."
