In Izumi City, last year, in an effort to secure young human resources, the city's employee salary ordinance was revised and starting salaries were significantly raised, from 202,400 yen to 228,100 yen for university graduates, not including allowances.
According to the city, this is the highest starting salary for general municipal employees in Japan, including prefectures.
